Fight till Babri Masjid is rebuilt: Imams Council

Babari Dharna-Imams Council
Kottayam: All India Imams' Council will fight until the restoration of Babri Masjid which was destroyed by Sangh Parivar fanatics, said council state president Abdurahman Bakhavi. He was inaugurating a dharna at Kottayam postal headquarters on demanding justice in Babri case and implementation of Misra Commission report. On the anniversary of Babri demolition, the government is providing extensive security arrangements all over the country. The Masjid wouldn't have been destroyed if the government had provided this kind of security arrangements back in 1992, he said. He added that the Council is agitating to get justice for the community.
Imams Council state vice president Fatahudheen Rashaadi said that none should be under the impression that Imams will remain peaceful in the corridors of mosques until the destroyed mosque is rebuilt. He was delivering the key note address in the dharna. In 1949, Hindutwa fanatics planted Ram's idol in the Babri masjid and propagated the blatant lie that the idol appeared there on its own. Even the Allahabad High Court parroted this version, he said.
So many mosques were either destroyed or shut down in India. But the destruction of Babri Masjid is different because that mosque is considered to be the symbol of Indian Muslims, said Thazhathangali Jama'at Imam Ali Bhakhavi.
State Imams Council district president Abdul Rasak Moulavi presided over the function. Imams from various parts of the state took part in the dharna which started at 10.30 am on Friday. Imam Council state committee member MEM Ashraf Moulavi and Popular Front district president CH Nisar Moulavi took part in the dharna.
